A Dream Realized

It was nearly 9 1/2 years ago that I recieved my first letter from a little piece of heaven admitting me to the class of 2004, today yet another dream of mine has come true. I will be going back to the place I have always loved to continue my education! I began the process of looking into graduate programs a few years ago, however due to fears surrounding my GPA, the GRE, etc. I avoided what I felt would be an inevitable and resounding "I am sorry to inform you..." letter.

I realize the tremendous responsibility I have to care for my family, and with another baby on the way this has become more of a reality. So this news is both good and scary at the same time. Hopefully it will lead to greater earning power (which doesn't take much if you are a school teacher!), but in the meantime it will mean sacrifice. The Lord has been preparing our hearts and minds for a while, and has given us plenty of practice in learning how to budget and spend.

I do not write this post expecting congratulations or praise, because the Lord truly has given me this oppportunity. I joke with people all the time about not making it into the AG (academically gifted)program in middle school, but it serves as a reminder to me that God makes all things possible. We should celebrate that everyday.

So on this day that UNC begins their march to Detroit in basketball! Please join Cyndy and I in a prayer of thanksgiving. We covet your prayers as we go forward as well. All in a period of six months I will be resigning from my job of 5 years, hopefully selling our home, moving, starting school, and welcoming a new baby on September 30th!

Go Heels!

And by the way, I'm hoping your child comes a day early - we could share a birthday!
