I am actually very impressed with Graeme's ability to play... like for real. We don't play for him, or even with him. And he wins, all by himself. Jane can get pretty annoyed when she sees the UNO box coming off the shelf. She isn't a fan of anything that she can't be involved in. HA I usually let her put my cards on the pile, but that quickly turns into "accidentally" pushing over the pile or just out right throwing them when she gets bored. So... Peppa Pig is generally turned on to allow the older two a few minutes of game time.
There is never really a dull moment in our home. But when the UNO cards come out, you better be on your toes. This is serious business. Graeme's catch phrase for laying down a card that is advantageous to his hand is, 'Bullseye!' Where he picked this up? I have no idea! But I almost peed in my pants the first night he slammed his card down and said "Bullseye" in a very sly and satisfied way. This would also be the night he looked me straight in the eye and said, "Bring it on, Mom!" Are you four, or are you 14?!
Every once in a while, Peppa won't even be alluring enough to keep Jane distracted. Yesterday afternoon, she wandered back to the UNO circle and saddled up between Graeme and Ceilidh. They both let out groans thinking we were going to have to protect the cards from being strewn around the living room. She grabbed each one of them around their necks, squeezed, and shouted "Best Fiends!" Be still my heart! We will play UNO everyday for the rest of your life if you continue to be 'best fiends.' ;)
