I am very excited for Mike and LeAnne. I told Mike at our Labor Day weekend last year that I had never seen him that happy before, and I hadn't. This weekend though, trumped it all. I don't think I ever saw a smile leave the boy's face! LeAnne looked lovely the whole weekend as well. The food was amazing and the downtime with "the girls" was great. It has been a while for me, especially Ceilidh free.
Andrew and I were honored to be asked to serve communion with three other couples during the ceremony. Communion has always been a big deal for me, but I have to say this weekend was pretty special. I have never served communion to other people before. It was quite the emotional experience. To literally look someone in the eye as they are exercising one of the most sacred traditions of the Christian faith and say, "This is Christ's body, broken for you" (I obviously had the bread), was really powerful. And then, Andrew and I served it to one another after the congregation had finished which was an even more emotional thing. To be looking at Andrew and thinking about how incredibly much I love him, but at the same time realize that my love wouldn't be a drop in a bucket compared to the love that Christ has for him is humbling. Our God is pretty amazing.
This one is for you Suzanne! Paula Deen's restaurant.
