Way cool encouragement story before I start with Christmas stories. Today, we were walking out of our building and there was a man unloading a U-Haul. I noticed he seemed to be unloading by himself, but quickly proceeded to the car b/c it was 30 degrees outside. While I was buckling Ceilidh in, the man approached Andrew about a hand-truck. After Andrew told him he didn't know where one might be, the man offered to pay Andrew for his help moving a couple pieces of furniture. Andrew told the man he was happy to help for nothing. I decided to go get gas while Andrew was helping and come back to pick him up. When I got back, Andrew was smiling from ear to ear. Turns out this man is a senior vice-president of a fortune 500 company that hires SOCIAL WORKERS! He was there helping his daughter move in who has just started graduate school. Not only did he give Andrew good advice and contact information, the man paid him $100 to move 3 pieces of furniture! When Andrew tried to refuse, he only said, "You have a family in graduate school, take your wife out to lunch." And thats what he did! woohoo! ha (Don't worry, we didn't use all of it at lunch! ha)
I post this not to say hey we got a little cash today or that Andrew is definitely going to work for this company after school, but to praise God for his faithfulness and provision. I really feel this meeting today was a chance for God to say, "Hey, I'm here. I haven't left you and I'm not going to." I like God's fun lessons!
I could write for hours about all the great family gatherings and fun memories of Christmas; but I will let the pictures speak for themselves. If you are on FB; they are all the same. Just wanted to post a few for mom and Nicole! I do have to say though that Christmas morning was awesome this year. Ceilidh is understanding more and more, and she was SO excited. I can't wait for next year already!
An unfinished blanket Lydia was making for Kenan. She gave it to us at Christmas. It is beautiful.
