Right after we got married, Andrew started talking to me about the Virginia Creeper Trail. This trail is 35 downhill/flat miles of an old railway that was torn up. People can now bike, hike, run, etc through the BEAUTIFUL Virginia mountains. Like I said, we had been talking about this trail for a while. Then a year or so ago, my friends Melinda and Jonathan went and made a video of the bike. I was definitely itching to go after the video. So.... we decided to take one last trip before school starts back Tuesday. Damascus, VA is only about an hour and fifteen from my parent's mountain house which made the trip that much more do-able.
We parked our car in Damascus and then shuttled up to White Top Station. From there we biked 17 miles back down to Damascus. I would love to go and finish the last 17 from Damascus to Abingdon; but we knew we had to take into account how long the kiddos could last. The scenery was incredible and the weather was perfect! Our pictures don't even do it justice. Ceilidh and Graeme both fell asleep for a while, but I wasn't able to get a picture of them leaning on each other before she woke up and pushed him off of her. ha If you ever get the chance, you should bike it yourself!
This tree and fallen over the path the night before. That was a fun one getting two bikes, one trailer, and four people over!
