Self-professed football fan, but......

So I am a self-professing football fan more than I am a basketball fan. I'm sure this has been influenced some by my husband, but even as young as middle school, I definitely enjoyed cheering for football WAY more than the basketball games. In high school, there was no comparison to a Friday night filled with stadium lights, drum rolls, touchdowns, screaming fans, and the many memories I made with the girls on the track with me.

All this to say, there is only one basketball game that could make me question my allegiance to football over basketball. That would be the Carolina/Duke game. I have been... twice actually. Tomorrow night will make three times! Yes, you read correctly. I am going to the game tomorrow!!!!! Caitlin, (who totally won sis-in-law of the year, wink) donated her ticket to me so that Andrew and I could go together.

Though my excitement might sound like a pre-teen boys'; I challenge anyone to attend a Carolina/Duke game and not become the biggest Carolina fan you have ever seen (even if just for the night!)! The atmosphere is CRAZY and AWESOME all in the same moment. Your head hurts b/c it is hot and loud; but you can't quit screaming b/c you loathe Duke THAT much and you love Carolina THAT much more. Even in all that distaste though, there is a respect for each other's players (at least athletically) that you won't find in any other game. Even for this non-basketball girl, it is a pretty remarkable night.

THANK YOU Caitlin for your generosity and thoughtfulness!!! THANK YOU Pops and ZZ for loving on our kiddos while we are gone. My last Carolina/Duke game, we beat the Dookies and went on the win the National Title that year. Lets have a repeat!!!!! GO HEELS!

Looking forward to teaching Ceilidh and Graeme to yell "go Duke"! Just kidding!!! I will remain neutral:)and just concentrate on reading books and giving hugs and kisses (and baking cookies)!
