Graeme's birthday or mine?

I don't know if it was Graeme's birthday week or mine! And yes, I am a terrible mother and didn't even blog about his birthday yesterday. I think I am in complete denial that he is already TWO! We are having grandparents and aunts/uncles over on Sunday to celebrate. Hopefully by the time Ceilidh turns 5, we will be able to do friend parties again. This Summer/early Fall has been so full of transition and uncertainty that it has just been easier on Momma to do small family gatherings.

We have had some fun visitors this week though, and some great mommy/girl time for me! It all started on Saturday when the Collins came to visit and brought Ceilidh's favorite meal of tacos. Thanks Lyd! On Wednesday, my dear friend, Alicia, drove an hour to come visit, bring dinner, cookies, and a beautiful blanket to Jane. This alone sounds pretty awesome, right? Well, let me expound a little. This was a made from scratch pasta bolognese dish. (http://haveyourcakeandeatittooblog.com/2011/09/28/pasta-bolognese/)
She is an amazing cook, so it was delicious! The cookies were probably homemade as well. She had cut out the first letter of everyone in our family's name (even K for Kenan), so the kids could ice and put sprinkles on the cookies by themselves. The blanket she gave Jane.... yep, you guessed it. She sewed herself. Everything had a personalized gift tag as well. Oh, and did I mention she has a two month old. Umm... Alicia you are amazing. Thank you mostly for your friendship, but also for your overwhelming generosity.

To top off the week, my friends Kristen and Amanda also drove an hour to come play with me... and my kids! ha They as well showered us with lunch, dinner, and gifts for Jane, Ceilidh, and Graeme. G-man has not been able to put away his cars that Jared picked out for him. Sorry we didn't get to see you, Jared, but hopefully soon! It was great to have adult female conversation! ha I'm sad I didn't get any pictures of these two. Thanks for everything ladies! I love you guys.

Next week is going to be lonely. ha
