Happy Birthday, America (and Caitlin)!

For some reason, it only allows uploads at the beginning. This is a hilarious video of Jane trying to copy Ceilidh as she did cartwheels down the beach!

July 4th is usually celebrated around here with the best parade this side of the Mississippi ;), and fireworks at the horse track in Pinehurst. This year though, my in-laws decided to take my sis-in-law, Caitlin, to the beach for a belated birthday gift. Since we normally enjoy the 4th festivities together, they graciously invited everyone to join them. After that was in the works, my parents and I decided to spend the beginning of the week together as well. So, my awesome husband stayed home for a few days to work; while I spent the week playing at the beach! ha I actually did feel slightly guilty, but maybe not enough that we wouldn't do it again. ;)

We had a wonderful time with everyone. We usually do the 'beach vacation' with the Clendenin side, so I was excited for my children to have time with my parents at the beach. My parents treated us to some pretty delicious seafood meals as well. It still makes me laugh how surprised my dad was at how much fish Graeme can eat. That boy loves some fish! Of course, someone always has to get sick while we are out of town. Graeme had a few days of a horrendous cough and nighttime breathing problems. That landed us in an urgent care during the middle of the week, but thankfully the doctor felt it was just a cold that aggravated potential nighttime asthma. He hasn't been officially diagnosed, but I was told to investigate it further with his doctor here at home.

After Andrew got to the beach mid week, Hurricane Arthur decided to stroll up the Atlantic seaboard.
:( Thankfully, we just got a bunch of rain and wind; but I felt horrible that Andrew was missing more beach time! It was pretty neat to take the kids to the beach that day to see the waves though. They were impressed. ha We watched fireworks at Barefoot Landing on the 4th, and had great playtime with Jack and Judson! Jane ended up getting G's cold, which had her pretty miserable by the end of the week. Other than a sick day or two, we had a great time. As this was a spur of the moment trip, we get to do this again in August. This time, daddy is coming for the whole time! I can't wait!!!

We did at least send him a "We miss you" message! ;)

Wednesday morning watching out the window for Daddy's car to pull in!
