One last Get-away

Andrew starts graduate school tomorrow. There is so much packed into that sentence, that I can't even begin to unpack it. I am beyond proud of him, excited with him, nervous about not knowing how to be the support he might need, nervous about what life will look like in a few short weeks when we are parents of two, etc. To celebrate and to relax, we decided to take a few days in the mountains. We really had a great time. Ceilidh did really well with the car rides. She slept and watched a movie both going and coming home. My parents have a single bed as well as their bed in the master. Ceilidh was hilarious talking about "grammy's big girl bed" and her flower pillow (the pillowcase).

Monday morning we drove out to Roan mountain to do a short hike, but of course, we pull into the parking lot and the bottom falls out of the sky. I was really disappointed. We had talked about this particular trail for a couple of days. The scenery was beautiful on the way up the mountain though. We had gotten Ceilidh pretty syked about hiking, so we decided to drive down the parkway and walk the Price Lake trail. It was a nice walk, and Ceilidh loved hiking "by myself." We let her walk the last little bit instead of being in the Kelty. She actually took quite a spill tripping over a root, but wanted to keep going "by herself," even with dirt in her hair, mouth, and a bruise on her forehead. She is quite the trooper! ha Hopefully after Baby C arrives, we will be able to do a bit more strenuous of a trail. A little shopping at the outlets is always a fun way to end the trip!

These are my two favorite sets of hands!

34 weeks pregnant...trying to drink lots of water to prevent face swelling. frown

Cyndy...CONGRATS! You look so adorable. Obviously I'm a little slow on learning you're pregnant. When are you due? I hope Chapel Hill is treating you well. Your little girl is absolutely adorable. I wish we could get together for a play date. :) Take care Cyndy!
