I have never written in detail about our birthing experience with Kenan. It hasn't necessarily been intentional; but I think it some regards I have protected it just as I have with his image. There are so few tangible things we have to hold onto with him; that in some ways his horrible yet beautiful birth is something that I have kept to myself. Even more than that, I don't feel I could give the experience justice with words.
All that being said, I came across a post from a woman who delivered a baby at about the same gestational age as Kenan. I am now obsessed with a new blog called Storytellers thanks to Caitlin (wink), and this woman writes for them. I couldn't quit reading as her thoughts, feelings, and even birthing process were identical to my own. We were in a hospital instead of a home, but we had the same amazing care as this woman, minus the chicken pot pie! ha Whether it be the drugs they gave me to dilate or just the trauma of the experience; his "pop" as she describes it involved getting sick on my stomach, which wasn't so pleasant. Besides those two things; we had a very similar experience. One of these days, I may decide to share with my own words. But for now, I encourage you to read hers. I love her post in so many ways, and I hate her post in so many ways.
