Thoughts on a new adventure

For over a year, Andrew and I have been discussing what we were going to do about the children's education. We/I have have struggled with all the pros and cons of homeschooling, public school, and private school. For many reasons, and with extreme nervousness (ha); we have decided to homeschool Ceilidh this upcoming year. I am too tired tonight to get into all of our thoughts on this, but I'm sure that post will come soon. The overarching idea though, is that we want to live life and do school; not live school and do life. I will be the first to say that this is a decision that works for our family, and every family is different. We both were public school educated and we have great respect for most public school teachers and schools. All that to say, I came across this post today and felt myself nodding in agreement. We are going to take this adventure one year at a time; but I love what this woman has to say about the "wholehearted family education."

You are going to be GREAT at homeschooling! You should check out one of my favorite books called Educating the WholeHearted Child by Sally Clarkson.
