Thanksgiving Part II

Friday morning, we headed out for Turkey part IV. The drive went pretty well other than Ceilidh decided to only sleep 45 minutes of the four hour drive, and the other 3 hours and 15 minutes were spent listening to "Wake up sleepyhead, open your eyes, birds are soaring....", "Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice, rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice....", and "He's got the whole world in his hands, He's got the whole world in his hands....." I love that she loves music, but after the first hour of this and she starts screaming "CD, CD, mommy, peez, CD, CD," I found myself not wanting to be sympathetic. She did make me laugh/feel sorry for her when she got to the point she was actually grabbing her car seat latch and saying, "push, push, mommy peez push." She knows you have to push and pull the buckle part to get out! ha

This was rare, but so cute I had to get a picture!

Ceilidh had a BLAST with her cousins. She wouldn't sit at the grownup table to eat, but kept walking over to the kid's table and eating off their plates. My nieces have become pre-teens overnight! You know they are growing up when you aren't laughing at their jokes just b/c you have to, but b/c they are actually funny now! ha I really wish I got to be more constant in their lives, but maybe someday. Saturday morning, we always go to a family friend's Christmas tree farm and pick out our tree. Ceilidh was very excited about our tree!

The Oh so cool almost 6 year old

Grammy and Granddaddy which somehow became "Grappy" and "Granpappy" gave Ceilidh a Christmas Train to put around her tree. She pulled the wrapping paper off one strip at a time and then started saying "Choo Choo Choo Choo!"

The ride home went pretty well also. She again didn't sleep until 30 minutes before we were home and we again listened to "Wake up sleepyhead, open your eyes, birds are soaring....", "Rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice, rejoice in the Lord always and again I say rejoice....", and "He's got the whole world in his hands, He's got the whole world in his hands....." She again started asking to get out of her car seat around Greensboro, but at least this time she added two requests to her pleas; "choo choo, mommy, choo choo" and "tree.. chrissmaz." I was proud of her.. that is a long drive for me, much less an 18 month old strapped into a car seat. I hope you all had a great Thanksgiving as well!
