When I loaded these, my computer scrambled the pictures order. Sorry for the weirdo order. We have had some fun these last couple of weeks at home! Nothing earth shattering, just everyday fun. Enjoy!

Three cheers for "October Baby!"

This is awesome! Take that major cinema outlets! There are a few cinemas in Fayetteville, Raleigh, Cary, and Burlington that are showing it. Go see it!


“The Hunger Games” wasn’t the only film to hit box office pay this past weekend. Although it only opened in 390 theaters, the anti-abortion drama “October Baby,” starring John Schneider,earned the second-highest-per-screen average, bringing in almost $2 million in ticket sales.
“I was shattered when I first learned about the story. I was moved and mesmerized. I wasn’t an activist, I was just someone who was shattered by the truth,” director Jon Erwin told FOX411’s Pop Tarts. “Here is our little film, small budget, in the top ten (at the box office). We are thrilled, blown away.”

“October Baby” follows the emotional journey of a young woman who learns that she was almost aborted, but at the last minute was instead given up for adoption. The film almost didn’t see the light of day.
“This film couldn’t find a home, no studio wanted to touch it. It was considered too controversial,” Erwin continued. “There was a real moment of despair at one point, the film wasn’t finished and nobody would take a look at it. But every time we screened it, it attracted such intense emotional reactions. So we had to raise the money ourselves, and the release process took much longer than we wanted.”
According to Dr. Ted Baehr, founder of the Christian movie site Movieguide.org, the success of “October Baby” can be attributed to a strong Christian and moral world view that touched the hearts of those who saw it. He says it’s important for more audiences to have the chance to see it, too.
“All who see it should be transformed, so considering the importance of the message, everyone should see it,” he said. “It needs more theatrical exposure.”
Erwin said they are hoping for a wider release next month, and communities are so desperate to see the film they are forming “action squads” in which Christian schools, churches and residents are coming together and agreeing to buy a certain amount of tickets to cover costs.
“We don’t have the deep pockets and resources that big studios have,” Erwin added. “So we have to take the long approach. But people are really getting behind this and rallying. People identify with it, that’s why the film worked.”

Cuteness saving the day (or week)!

So this week hasn't gotten any better on many different levels, unfortunately. Our car is STILL sitting at the shop b/c we can't come to an agreement about repairs with Bill Smith Ford. That is for another post when I have more time. Graeme has gotten more oppositional and aggressive the last few months, but the last couple of weeks have topped them all. frown 95% of the time he is sweet, obedient, snugly, and compassionate. It is just the 5% of time that I want to pull my hair out! ha

So again this week, I have had to cling to the sweet/funny things they say and do to get me though the days!

*Caveat* Ceilidh LOVES all things snakes. I DO NOT know why. ha She is petrified of them, but is fascinated with learning all about them. We check out every snake book we can find and watch every National Geographic show we can. Most of the shows are about capturing/releasing them for research or relocation. It has been drilled into them to "run the other way" when we see snakes. Imagine my horror when we see the first snake of the season (dead on the road) and I ask Graeme:

Me: What do you do if you see a snake, Graeme?

G: Get a stick and FIGHTTTTT it!

Umm... wrong answer! No more National Geographic for you, mister! ha

These few weeks leading up to Easter; we are talking about the events that led up to the Crucifixion using our 5 senses. I have been really excited how into C and G have been. Anyway, we are having a pretty serious and sweet moment talking about the Garden of Gethsemane.

Me: What do you think Jesus heard in the Garden?

C: (sheepishly) His Daddy.

Me: That's great, Ceilidh! He did hear God. That is who he was talking to.

(More conversation about this and how Jesus is God, but also God's son. That is a tough one.)

C: I bet he heard something else too.

Me: Really, what else?

C: The disciples snoring!

We all busted out laughing! She is probably right. I love "seeing" their mind explore the bible and its truths!

And lastly, Jane would not be out done in the cuteness department! Jane gives a huge smile and throws those adorable chubby arms into the air for you to pick her up when you walk by the exersaucer! I love that she is "communicating" so much now.

Too sweet

Andrew laughs at me for reading Yahoo articles; but this was too sweet not to share. Clark Kellogg is broadcasting live when he finds out his son is going to the sweet 16. It is the first time in ~50 years that Ohio has been to the sweet 16. I love how he is trying to be professional, but can't contain his excitement. "Good job young fella!" is totally my favorite line! ha

Happy Birthday Jasper Augustus!

Jack turned the big 2 this last week! Randy and Lauren threw him an adorable Babar birthday party and then we all went to a city park with amusement park rides. We all had SUCH a good time! Ceilidh and Graeme told me all night how much fun they had. There was corn hole, frisbee throwing, hotdogs, cake, and presents during the party. Then there were train rides, a carousel, boat ride, fire truck ride, and an airplane ride during the "after party" at the park! Thanks for such a great day, Jack! We love you!

Half a Year

Six months, 26 weeks, 182 days... how ever you want to say it; my Jane turned half a year old yesterday! It really is hard to fathom it has been 6 months already. She is getting to be more and more fun! She is rolling around, giggling, eating solids, grabbing everything in sight, involving herself in our conversations (wink), etc.... Ceilidh and Graeme are both obsessed with her. I love watching them all interact when they don't know I am watching. We love you Suzanne Jane!

Friday was her half birthday, as well as the first game on our way to the 2012 NCAA championship. Go Heels!

Rolling to Victory

Conversation from last night:

"LeHigh, LeHigh, LeHigh, LeHigh......!!!!!"

Cyndy: "Where is LeHigh?"

Andrew: "I don't know. Who cares?"

So, my bracket took a bit of a hit with the Duke and Memphis loss. Thats ok, I'm willing to take one for the team for moment to revel in a Duke FIRST ROUND loss to a team that has NEVER won a NCAA game. Oh man.... it doesn't get much sweeter than that (sports wise, wink)! Andrew keeps telling me to stay calm though b/c I still have the most points possible in our friend pool. I would be very excited to win the tournament!!!! We will see!!!

October Baby

Andrew heard about this movie on the radio this morning. I went to the website, and I am REALLY excited for the release! I usually wouldn't promote a movie I had not seen, but I have seen enough to be pumped! To put a cherry on top, 10% of the proceeds go to pregnancy resource centers!!!!! How ever you feel about abortion, I think we can all agree that the NEED for abortions should be eliminated. Along with a million different other great things, pregnancy resource centers (the legit ones... and there are many) focus on helping girls/women to never even get to the point of needing to make the decision to abort or not. And, if they do face this decision; NO MATTER what choice is made, the girls/women are welcomed (even encouraged) to continue a relationship with her peer advocate to deal with the ramifications of either decision.

Please let it be a better week!

So it has been quite a week. And not the good kind. Thankfully everyone is healthy and our frustrations have not been associated with illness. It is too long of a story, and we are still in the middle of it to begin explaining on the blog; but long story short we are without either of our cars at the moment. Both of our cars are in the shop. Hopefully we are getting Andrew's back today, and the family car is getting towed today. The only one thrilled about a tow truck coming to our house twice in one week is Graeme. ha I am about to call it quits, buy Randy's 240, "and forget about it!" HA

Anyway... our three kiddos can keep me smiling through the tears! wink

Jane is still eating like a champ! She loves to eat. She is also all about grabbing ANYTHING within reach, ie: cups, ear rings, remotes, books, skin, etc.

Graeme is convinced that Jane bounces around in an "apple saucer" instead of an exersaucer. In fact, he is quite adamant that you are wrong and he is right! ha

Ceilidh has her own rendition of "Blessed Assurance," as you can hear her belting "Blessed Assure As, Jesus is Mine Oh, what a foretaste of Glory Divine...." HA It is really cute.

And so it begins....

My baby is acting older and older everyday! Jane got to munch down on oatmeal for the first time last night and LOVED every drop! ha Neither C or G gobbled up their first meal like this. I am going to give her another day or so on just oatmeal, and then the possibilities are limitless. Well; besides citrus, eggs, peanut butter, and a few other things... but you get my drift. ha Of course we had to document this milestone. I thought I would throw in a few other pictures as well. Enjoy!

We have been talking about being super heros for Christ recently; so they made super hero masks to remind them that we "live by faith, and not by sight." They did a great job!

I can't get over how blonde one of my children is. I know this isn't that blonde to most; but for one of mine it is exceptionally blonde!
